Access to Opportunities
In addition to basic needs, SoWashCo CARES Education Foundation is committed to providing access to opportunities and removing the barriers to access.
Financial Assistance
We provide financial assistance for Drivers Education, ACT Prep, and enrichment activities. We also help with fees for field trips, and even things like helping a family purchase spirit wear for their student.
Mental Health
SoWashCo CARES Education Foundation has funding from the Woodbury Rotary Club to provide financial assistance to students seeking mental health services. This funding allows us to help uninsured and underinsured families pay for copays and deductibles.
After School Programming
Marathon Petroleum supports our free after school programming at Crestview Elementary, Newport Elementary, Pullman Elementary and Woodbury Elementary.
Post Secondary Vocational Training
SoWashCo CARES Education Foundation manages the Marge and Otto Schmaltz Endowment, for Park High School students to seek post-secondary vocational training. We also administer several other scholarships for students to pursue post-secondary training opportunities.
Transportation
Transportation is a huge barrier for many in our community. SoWashCo CARES Education Foundation works with Lyft to provide families with ride codes so they can get where they need to be.
